useR! Conference

useR! conferences are non-profit conferences organized by community volunteers for the community, supported by the R Foundation. Attendees include R developers and users who are data scientists, business intelligence specialists, analysts, statisticians from academia and industry, and students.

My first participation in the organization was during 2020 as a contact for R-Ladies in the organization of the tutorials.

For the 2021 edition I was one of the Global Coordinators. Also taking charge of the entire tutorial process, leading the communication team (brand, visual identity, website and social networks) and helping the technology team with the configuration of the video conference and streaming infrastructure. I collaborated with the program and content team as part of the definition group of the program committee and the final program. My job in the diversity team was being part of the partners team as R-Ladies liaison.

useR! 2021 was a conference with a major focus on accessibility, inclusion and diversity; taking into account various dimensions of these aspects: language, geography, age, disability, infrastructure, career status, workplace, etc.

For the 2022 edition I’m part of the organizing team and Head of Programm Commitee. The R Foundation found me to do this tasks.

useR! Conf es una conferencia sin fines de lucro organizada por voluntarios de la comunidad para la comunidad, con el apoyo de la Fundación R. Las personas que participan incluyen desarrolladores y usuaries de R que son científicas/os de datos, especialistas en inteligencia empresarial, analistas, estadísticas/os del mundo académico y de la industria, y estudiantes.

Mi primera participación en la organización fue durante el 2020 como contacto para R-Ladies en la organización de los tutoriales.

Durante la edición del 2021 fui una de las coordinadoras globales, teniendo también a cargo todo el proceso de tutoriales pero sumando la comunicación (marca, identiad visual, sitio web y redes sociales) y la configuración de la infraestructura de video conferencia y streaming. Colaboré con el equipo de programa y contenido como parte del grupo de definición del comité del programa y del programa final.

useR! 2021 fue una conferencia con un foco importante en accesibilidad, inclusion y diversidad; teniendo en cuentas diversas dimensiones de estos aspectos: lenguage, geografía, edad, discapacidad, infraestructura, estado de carrera, lugar de trabajo, etc.

Para la edición 2022 soy parte del equipo organizador y Jefe del Comité de Programa. La R Foundation financia estas tareas.
